The big difference between the TKO and the TKO2 is the overdrive (in the TKO2 is .82 verses .63 in the TKO).
The TKO is rated for 325 to around 450 ft.lbs. torque and the TKO2 is rated for 475 and above. They each have the same application for big blocks so there won't be any problem matching it to your engine. Check out the shifter and boot that match the trans. The unusual feature on the stick is that it actually has the faux spring loaded release for reverse which looks like the originals. The shift knob is the period correct 4 speed but is specifically matched for the TKO2.
