No doubt 6132 has a toploader with a tailshaft casing that accommodates the center mounting, as opposed to the correct rear casting boss used on the Shelby cars. Certainly easy to remedy.
Several of Brian Angliss' continuation cars, both LHD and RHD exhibit this shifter location. Both Labans and Legates books include cars (all UK based) as such, including Rod Leach's extraordinary twin turbo car. My understanding is that from an ergonomics standpoint, a forward location is more desireable.
As beautifully crafted as these cars are, very few built by Angliss were dead on. Many of the "non-original" features, such as fiberglass inner fender panels, improved brake component location, etc., are desireable attributes in the real world.
