The "True" sportscar folks just did not consider the Vette as a sportscar, sport touring vehicle, maybe !
The Cobra, being bare of many amenities of American Iron, and with Brit. roots was really a sportscar, and was received as such.
What kept the Cobra out of the hands of the A-H, Trimpth, MG crowd was the price tag. Not much has changed, has it !!
Who in their right mind would buy a new convertable car that didn't even come with a Top or Radio !! Not even as an option !! It had to be that special wind-in-the-face kinda person.
Thank goodness for "Replicas" !!
