Smile Converting to a Hurst Shifter

Currently, I have an original 427 style Cobra shifter-the reverse Mustang type. Now, I want to change the shifter stick and knob only. I want a very short, straight, stick with a round black knob instead. I found want I want from Hurst, but it will not fit my shifter without some sort of an adapter. The stick I have now mounts to a horizontal plate on the shifter assembly. However, the Hurst type mounts to a vertical lever or arm.

So.....is there anybody or company who makes this adapter or the short stick that will bolt on?

Thanks for your help,

John
