Stops are in the transmission. Tremec told me to back external shifter stops all the way out so the internal transmission stops are used. By the way, you don't need a fancy shifter kit for a Tremec, just a lever and knob. My is made from polished 304 stainless steel and the transmission shifts very smoothly (3 yrs in service). I was able to adjust shifther length, height, angle, and knob diameter to perfectly suit me. Cost was zero since I had the materials.
