We discussed this on Kris' site last year...
The Quick-Leverage Jacks worked well in the pits; early photos show two guys 'hangin' on them to generate the lift.

From extrapolation of early photos and the specimens at the Shelby museum, Roger B. estimated the length of the "moment arm" to be slightly in excess of six feet. This would mean that you would need approx. 8 feet of open space in front or rear of car to get it up in the air.

On the whole, I'd rather use jack stands.
