Pressure can be understood by taking a strw and blowing into it. The smaller the straw the harder it will be to blow through. Volume is the amount of actual flow through that straw.
What could be happening is that the flow to your carb is too great or the carb isn't atomizing the fuel quick enough. Check everything. Timing, jetting, plugs too cold, etc. Make one change at a time to see if the problem persists.
