1: This would be the popular 427SC body style. 1965-1967

2: There are plenty of people living right in your area with countless different brands of Cobras who get together sporaticly. Check with Steve Klayman (aka: klayfish) as he seems to be the driving force in that area.

3: Provided that you get a car with dropped footboxes, and an adjustable seat track, you should be just fine. I know of several Cobra owners who are larger than you are, who drive their cars on a regular basis with no complaints.

Finally, in closing, whether you choose to build or buy, make sure that you work out your top budget first, then add 10-20% on top of that for a reality check........
