Chiperb,

Rick is correct. I think the stock pans held either 4 1/2 or 5 quarts and then you figure in about a quart for the filter if you are running the standard length filter. Put the 5.5 quarts in and run the motor for a few minutes watching your oil pressure and then shut it off and take a look at where the level is.
