My are stable as well. Mounted on the windshield. The passenger side won't close in enough since they are mounted horizontal vs vertical. I used the mounts from Finishline from where I got the mirrors. There's some guy from England with a better mount including pics. I been meaning to "search" him out again and find out what he used. Perhaps you can as well.
