Can someone explain to me the easiest way to register a Cobra replica (i.e. new chassis, kit car with old drive train) in the USA and not run into any difficulities with the authorities. Do these replica's count as 'old timers' and thereby avoid emission exemptions, frame structural questions etc.?

I have heard a 'few stories' but how do most replica manufactures assist in the this process and is it normally possible to register a replica in all US states? The key question for me is what is the date of the title that is issued.

I would be much obliged for any direction in this matter.
