Default Duel Quad set-up ?

I would like some of you guys that run duel quads to help me decide on either a Barry Grant carb, using my RPM manifold & new turkey pan or....I have a guy wanting to sell a Offenhouser intake with 2- Holley 600 crabs that have been rebuilt, all the lines & linkage, ready to run for around $600. He is going to try and take pictures for me. (Iwouldn't buy it otherwise) I figure that, a B.G 850 carb is $500 & this quad set-up is 600 smackers, why not get a manifold, two carbs ect... for a 100 bucks more ? Agree/disagree ? Now, I've never tuned a duel quad system, what about TUNNING......., gas milage, throttle responce, hp & torque differences between duel/single carb, the good & the bad of using this system ect. ect. ect. !
I will appreciate the advice.
Thanks,
kevin
