Todays top fuelers run the old 426 Hemi, bored/stroked to the legal 500 inch limit of course. Not the same engine of yester year you say? Consider this, the iron heads from an old 426 Hemi WILL bolt on to the latest fueler engine. They are now making in the range of 8,000 h.p. There is also about 8 g's of force on the driver at launch time.
It is commonly understood there is no other engine that can be built to compete at the highest level of drag racing (AA Fuel).
Question:
Could the "cammer" do it if they had been given the time in developement that the Hemi has had over the years? The cammer is after all a "Hemi" head design, which is THE key to massive horse power.
