The FACTS are: (if one were to actually READ Hal's story,) 1. Hal sent him a thundering blip as he DOWNSHIFTED from second to first. Downshifting DOES NOT cause "all sorts of sand and grit" to go flying thru the air. The increase of revs from the downshift causes "partially burnt dinosaur" to waft out from the exhaust... 2. The ONLY thing that went onto the Porsche was the sound (and fumes) of the Great Stroker Downshifting next to the hapless German coupe. There is SOME sand, grit, and road debris on the roads.....the sheer act of passing parked cars flings the stuff up AS NORMAL...I'll bet the Porsche owner, if he chooses to tell the same tale that Hal told, would NEVER mention any "sand and grit" all over his shiny new car! That's just the way it is! There. I have settled this whole argument/discussion/whining session. Roscoe, the drinks are on me!
