Traditionally, both heater hoses are on the right side (passenger side) of the motor. One hose (the heater return hose) goes to the water pump and the feed hose plumbs into a cad plated right angle hose nipple in the manifold directly behind the thermostat housing. One heater pipe is usually labeled as the inlet. You should do it the correct way and move your temp sensor to the other side of the motor. The proper hose nipple can be obtained from Virginia Mustang and a host of other places selling repro FE parts. Also, check out a drawing on the ERA website that shows how the hoses run including the use of a manual cable operated heater shutoff valve (highly recommended). See the photo below of my setup. I call this photo: IS IT REAL OR IS IT MEMOREX.




HINT: That ain't a 427 but a dressed up 351W.
