Your'e right its not the coil.

I'm told that it is highly likely that there is some moisture lurking where the TFI module sits on the distributor. That could be why it needs the QLD sun (for 10 minutes) to dry it out.

It could well be that the only one time that I washed it, water got in through the bonnet scoop and saturated the module - no more washing!!!

I'll unbolt the TFI module and re-caulk it. If that doesn't fix it I think it will be a new module.
