I share Bills opinion.
I've owned a Miata and had it through a couple of 'southern' winters. It was light weight, rear wheel drive and no significant torque and I found it too much for a winter daily driver.
A beater Jeep, pick-up, or SUV is winter practical and summer smart to haul your s**t. It doesn't have to be a beauty queen, it too can be a project!
