The starting point from South Florida will be at 9:00 am at Custom Cars, home of the Backdraft Racing Roadsters.
Reg has been kind enough to offer his shop for our sign in and starting point. Reg is our 1st sponsor and will be providing coffee,tea and breakfast thingies. We love you Reg!!!
Next stop will be just for fuel in Florida City and the beginning of the Keys ride. Then we'll stop at the Caribbean Club mm 104 in Key Largo and draw our 1st cards for the Poker Run. The next stop will be at the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar mm 84.5 and the drawing of the 2nd hand.
The 3rd stop will be in Marathon's Island Tiki Bar mm 54. Have you noticed a trend here, all these stops have food and drinks... If we don't gain any weight we'll at least get good and drunk!! Well, maybe not drunk but we will be HAPPY. Next stop will be at the Sugar Loaf Lodge mm 17, after drawing cards we'll visit our racing Cobra buddies at the Bay Bottom Crawl. Hopefully they'll take pity on us and take us on one of their runs...I hope they are good hearted kind folks like the rest of us and grant us our wish...or maybe we can just stand there and beg!!!
For those that prefer to go on to Key West we'll try to make it as short a stop as posible. Anyone wanting to stay at the Crawl, can, they can hook up with the rest of the group at the Holiday Inn Beachside in Key West later where we'll draw our last cards and get ready for the welcome party. The schedule of events will be handed out there and the winner announced as well. One lucky person is gonna have some spending cash... Later in the evening we'll make our presence known to the locals as we head down to Duval St. for more fun, unless you guys let your mates take you shopping. Nah, just tell them they have all day Sunday for that, the night is for dancing and romance. Lot's of good places for that, plenty of different strokes for different folks, or we can party together!!!!!
Sunday we'll have some free time, then later comes the car show and parade down Duval St. The starting point will be at Sloppy Joe's. We'll head east on Duval and back around to Mallory Square and end the parade at the Pier for the Sunset Festival.
Then after dinner at a local fish house, we'll start the party all over again.
Monday (it is a Holiday) after breakfast and some last minute shopping we'll do a FUN Run back while heading home. I have several stops to suggest, like Gary's in Marathon, Island Company Fish House in Islamorada, Shell City in Key Largo, and last but not least, Alabama Jack's for the BEST conch fritters!!!! We can change or drop anyone of those places but Alabama Jack's. I wouldn't miss that stop for anything!! It's a MUST, you'll see!!!
