Per CSX 4027: Superformance along with all the others are kit cars. They come without the necessary parts to turn the key and go down the road. That's a kit car. Ask any motor vehicle agency. As for the differentiation and Ebay listings, Ebay clearly has established a section for Kit cars, yet people still list them in that section as Shelby AC Cobra's. Shelby has the one up to the manufacturers section because he was already a listed manufacturer from the 1960's and created (or whatever) a car that made history.

I thought Shelby only offered rollers, not turn key cars so as to avoid crash testing, etc? I'm probably wrong....If that is true however, I guess the reproduction models are kits and should be classified as such?
Only playing around here, and generally, I think we should just go back to loving our cars and stop finding ways to poke at each other. "Shelby" Cobras wouldn't be enjoying the success they are today without the "kit" industry, and the kit industry wouldn't be nearly as successful had Shelby not been so brilliant. I have just as much fun in my POS kit as someone who has a vintage Cobra or any of the continuation ones. We're in it together, so enjoy the ride!
