Your shifter location is for a Torino. Ford used an adapter plate to move the shifter back the 3-4" for the Mustang location. I am going to have some more plates made up for a project I am working on. If you want one let me know. By the way when you move the shifter to the Mustang position the shifter rods will need to be replaced or extended.
