If you hate rock chips you should really give it a try. Maybe you could test it out in an area that is hardly seen. For example, the lowest part of the rear fender where the rear tire sprays rocks. This surface is almost horizontal to the ground and almost out of sight. If it works for you, you can move on to other crucial areas later.

I did replace it. Then, to top it off, A few days later I saw a bubble I missed so I removed and replaced it again!
