The PI intake I have has no throtle linkage mount in the castings and no PVC Flanges/bulges even cast into the manifold. It does have a Heat Riser though I have not specificly looked for an actual fitting/flange area.
It seems to me that a High Riser Intake ought to stick out like a sore thumb in a manicure show. I have a friend with the appropriate 2nd generation refined port heads and 1X4 HR intake. That picture you discribe should be easy to determine if its a HR with direct comparison. The additional height of the HR should be pretty obvious if carefully compared.
