Default Fuel pump location

I have a red holly works great. Just fired engine today and everything was fine. (little problem with figuring out firing but that's another thread) Locate it as close to level at output of tank is what holly recommended. I have a in line fuel filter between pump and tank. Also one between regulator and carb. Don't know of exact situation with your frame and all but I needed to construct a 2x2 6" angle and attach it to frame mounted nice with holley pump holder. Line runs something like this-
From tank loops over rear axle (drivers side) at top of loop just beyond the axle (to give clearance for axle movement) mounted canister type fuel filter took 90 degree angle off ouput to run straight down to pump. This comes straight down to fuel pump which had 90 degree barb at imput. Pump sits upright and has straight barb which takes to fuel pump regulator mounted on frame. Hope this helps.

As I've been told- Run it like you stole it.
