Yup, the flexi hose did the trick. Yes, have it on jack stands on the frame. Just moving the wheels allowed me to align the nipples for easy access.

BTW:

Also, on the rear drive hub carrier which is the stationary part that is connected to the lower A arm. There appears to be a "plug" on the top of this. Is this an access port for grease packing the rear bearings?
