Glad to hear Lew is stable and concious at times. Don't be surprised if he is dissoriented and can't remember what's going on. Morphine will do that to you, you can still feel the pain but you don't care. When I was in the hospital I'd wake up and wonder who brought in the cards, well the nurse said I was talking to them, but you're not really there, the morphine makes you forget. Check and see when he can take pills instead of a needle, they won't move him until he's off the needle. Then it would be a good time to see him, he'll remember more.
