Hi,
You need some heat in the oil to lubricate properly.
In general the oil should be slightly warmer than the water temp, it should run 190 to 210 degrees, I wouldn't run it over 230 degrees.Your oil cooler should have a thermostat and bypass in it to let oil by until it warms up to go through the cooler.
