Well, I guess I got me a hotrod then! I can't speak for all other kit manufacturers because I haven't owned any other than the Shell Valley that I abuse at the local track on a weekly basis. I can only say the Shell Valley body & chassis can take an awful amount of abuse without faulting. The paint is 4 1/2 yrs old & still looks like it did when I won my first trophy for paint back in 2000. The car leaves the start on 2 wheels & yanks them again in 2nd & 3rd. No stress cracks anywhere so far. I can't imagine anyone mistaking my car for an original but they do(weldwheels were an option back in 65!)As for how I handle the inevitable traffic light question of "Is that real?" my response is 'yeah, real fast'.
My 2cents on the whole CSX issue is: If you weren't gassin it up at the local Sinclair or putting
oil in it from jars back in 64 then it aint an original. Oh yeah, If it doesn't have an appraised value of at least $200,000....
