I agree with DonC. I bought the Canton oil thermostat because it opens at 215. Cool oil does not lubricate properly and does not evaporate the water that condenses in the block and heads. I think you want a 180 degree thermostat. I currently have a 160, but on the highway the car runs at 160. I do not believe it heats the oil sufficiently. I will switch to a high flow 180 with the steam hole drilled in the edge.
