CSX envy?...WOW, that's strange. How does a person go about deciding when others are envious of their material posessions? The CSX4 series is a masterpiece of a replica and so is the Kirkham and others. In many respects even nicer than the originals. While I have the financial means to purchase a top notch exacting CSX, my Shell Valley car fits my needs more adeptly. I wanted a race car. Something to withstand frequent abuse at dragstrips and on the street. My car was purposebuilt for my needs(ie:run hard). I do not need a specific vehicle ID tag to define my station in life. I believe there are a few CSX owners that think they are on a higher pedistal in life because of the brand kit-car they own. That is a character flaw which can not be rectified by the purchase of a particular car. I would have no desire to tell the general stranger that what they're looking at is one of the original 60s era Cobras that they worshiped. That wouldn't make me feel any better and the generally less knowledgable admirer on the street who asks 'is that a real Shelby Cobra?' is really only asking if it is one of the cars built back in the 60s. They are not interested in hearing rationalizations of why one can legally call their car a Shelby Cobra in a court of law. Unless it was built in 196_ & sent here through a time machine one can not purchase the 'real Shelby Cobra' that all people are dreaming of get a glimpse at. Though... I am guilty of envy, but it is of Carroll Shelby.
