Steve: Thanks for your kind words. Very simply, you are right. Everyone takes pride in what the own. Everyone will look to defend what they have against perceived assaults. Granted.

My point has been simple but yet distorted my some.

Its no secret my car isn't original. I don't pretend it is and no, if asked if it is I don't say it is either.

Is it a replica of the orignal? Yes. Is it a replica of a Cobra. No. It is a Cobra factually and legally.

Is it that I'm am putting myself on a pedestal by saying this??? Does saying this make it better, whatever that may mean than an ERA or what you have? Depends on what your definition of better is.

Does it denigrate my car and other Continuation Cobras by saying or implying they are just "kits" or just "replicas" when the reason guys bought their Continuation Cobras was because part of the attraction was they were buying genuine Cobras and legally and factually accepted by SAAC as such.

By simply pointing to the Continuation Cobra and factually pointing out what it legally and factually is how does that denegrate a guy with something else?

No one with a Continuation Cobra has ever suggested they are as special, collectible, desirable or valuable as the originals.

I know there are some people around here that don't like me and routinely knock me because of my unwaivering position on this issue.Thats fine because the more they knock me just proves my point evenmore i.e, some are just envious and pissed because they would rather have a Shelby deep down and can't repond factually because factually I'm right. This is not all however nor do I intend to include everyone description. Some are just nasty bitter ...well never mind.

I also recognize that there are some that just don't care about having a CSX and would really rather have what they bought. Those guys are clearly identified because they usually don't knock the Contiuation series in justifying what they bought instead. I respect that.

If I said to you your car isn't a REAL Cobra is that a surprise to you? So why would that be insulting? Did you think it was a REAL Cobra when you bought it?

If you said to me I don't consider your Cobra an original Cobra would that be a surprise to me or an insult? Nope.

If you said to me my Cobra wasn't a REAL Cobra and was just a kit replica would that be insulting. Yes. Why? Because thats what it is (a Cobra) legally and factually. In short you are telling me my car is not what it was represented to be by its originator, Shelby American at time of purchase and what was part of the bargain. A REAL Cobra of the Continuation series. What the problem with that? Now I fully expect the usual wisea$$ remarks here from the usual few, but you should understand what I'm saying.

My intent is not to insult or denegrate anyones car. I can't help it if some take it that way when I point to the facts in the context of an argument or discussion.

What I state about the Continuation Cobra isn't my "opinion" its raw fact. I didn't create the facts. I'm just pointing them out. Some can't stand the facts and will twist what I say whenever possible.

Anyway, to briefly digress, I'm sure you know the engineer battalions during the Battle of the Bulge were critical to the eventual defeat of the German offensive. Without the terrific and heroic work of the engineers in destroying crucial bridges, many times under fire, the Germans would have been able to move a number of their heavy Panzer divisions effectively cutting off a large part of the Allied force and capturing a very stragtegic French port. Might have turned the tide of the war.

God bless your Dad. Unfortunately todays generation is losing sight of what that generation did for us and all future generations. I'm sure you are very proud of him as you should be.

I have a shadow box set up in my den with my fathers medals, discharge papers, German Lugar he took off a German SS Lt. near the German border after destroying a half track with his squad, his Sykes Camando knife, the shells from his 21 gun salute from his funeral and the American Flag presented to my mother by the Military Honar guard and some little articles on Army Rangers. Kind of my little memorial to him.

Regards.

Eric: Man that camparison of me to Forrest Gump running coast to coast without stopping was excellent! I loved it!

It totally energized me!
