Steve,

The redline 10W-40 will be just fine for your "new" engine. As for filters, I've been using the good olde fashion for FL1-A-HP filters for my cars for years without ever a problem. Used to work for a company that started using the WIX filters, then switched over to the FRAM as that is what the road/circle track boys wanted.......Never asked why, just figured the guys with the $40,000+ motors had done their homework....................
