Andy: The shifter should be identified as a Hurst shifter on the side of the shifter body. I just went by the physical features of the shifter in the photo to ID it. Also, there will be a bunch of patent numbers, so many that they will take up most of the space on the side.

You're right in questioning whether it's a copy or not. Nothing is sacred anymore. Oops, should we call it a reproduction rather than a copy if it's not real .
