I picked up my rear end for about $300, to shorten it was another $550 (one new Moser axle, new flanges to fit my brakes, drain plug), and a Versailles brake set was $300.

A little elbow grease to put in a new seal, check the bearings, clean the gearing up, and paint the axle and I'm good to go. I didn't do a lot of pricing on new axles, but I'd guess I spent only about half of a brand new one.

I didn't have to break into the diff as the limited slip diff was still good.
