That's what I will be doing in the spring as well. Can't wait! :D

A 427FE thread has more action on the 429/460 forum than the 385 series do.

I noticed that too. Pretty funny, although maybe not for the 385 guys.

For a point of reference, can you remind me/us what's in your build (block/heads/cam)?

This has most of the specs on his build. http://www.prestigemotorcar.com/comp...showEO/id,190/

I feel so nekkid having all that stuff on the web. :)

BTW, the "500HP!!!" claims are used-car salesman smoke. The dyno sheet shows a peak just over 440. The original owner has no idea where the guy got the 500 figure. I think "around 500 HP" is a meaningless yack-marker in this game.

Maybe not. But the 385 folks are all out in their garages wondering how to make the engine fit. :D :D :D

Gotta retract that, carbs arrived and are not as represented and they are going back to the seller. So I am still in the market for a deal on a set of BJ/BKs. Sorry for the thread-jack.

Ibr8k4vetts 12-07-2009 06:22 PM

When I received my new in the box BJ/BKs they said 550 in the paper work.

Those are sold, but I am watching it. I will ultimately wind up having to buy a new set, I was just hoping to find a set "lying around."

One of the guys over in fordfe.com had an "unadvertised" used set they were willing to part with several months ago. For the life of me I can't remember who it was. I'd try putting a WTB over in their classified section and see if you get any bites.

The new carbs are $1050 a set.. I've heard several horror stories from different people about the re-pops though.
