Spal Cooling Fan 30102113
Has anyone had experience using this high output fan. It has impressive performance data, but it notes that it is only recommended for paved track useage. It is not recommended for dirty or wet environments due to no sealing features. I am curious if they are on the money or over the top on their disclaimer. If anybody is using this fan, please let me know your experience. Thanks

I use 2 10" versions of this fan for more sq/in coverage. 10 months now, I have been thru rain but no real dirt or dust. Drive every w/e and AutoX.
Atl. set an all time record high this past summer of 108. I took the car out to see what would happen and I withered but the car has never overheated. Running a warmed up 460, alum rad. |
Thanks for the feedback. I too am running a 460. I aquired another new fan manufactured by perma Cool. It has the same CFM (Approx 2400). The Perma Cool fan has a sealed motor and aluminum blades. It is a little bigger front to rear. I am still in a decision mode. Thanks again for the input.

Take a look at the early Viper fans , they have small rubber flaps on all four corners that allow air to flow threw at road speeds and close at low speeds to force more air threw the fan . It is a two speed unit . I believe it is 2600 at low speed and 3400 CFM on high.I trimmed the factory mount and it slip right in . I have use it for five years and works great . You need two relays and an over ride switch and run it direct from the Alt.

Go with the Taurus fan and proper wiring set up. End of heating problems, my car has been running cool in temps. up to 120 degrees here in the desert, and that's no bull.

SPAL has some dual deep dish fans that would work even better than what is in the '30102113" -- Steve

by all means the taurus or a mark viii fan, spal makes a controller for them that is pretty trick you can set on off temps.
you can pick up used fan assemblies in the boneyard, google it you'll see dozens of how too's on the subject |
I believe Kirkhams uses Spal fans on all their cars.

I did the Taurus fan installation about a year or so ago and used the 2Sp controller from this company: Welcome to Delta Current Control. It has performed flawlessly.
