Hey damage, talk to Keith Craft @ Keith Craft Racing engines. He does cammers I believe.

I agree that they are intricate motors but if you are a high level builder then it will not be so complicated especially with the quality of parts and technology available today. I also think that the motor in question on this thread was constructed by Keith Craft as it was alluded to earlier.

First off, I was talking about posting a grievance with any party in general. This forum is supposed to be unbiased, when the forum allows any ability to post anything about consumer warning issues it should react in an unbiased attitude, especially when the accused party is active on the forum but is unresponsive to the poster on the forum or in private. Like I said my post has nothing to do with the claims that "damage" has posted about but these kinds of postings in general.

I apologize for asking damage who the builder was. I hope it didn't appear as muckraking. I asked because I want to know everyone building 'new' SOHC's.
These engines aren't 'there' yet. Period. |
Pretty sure this one will right itself over time.
I agree on the SOHC's. They are cool engines for sure, but just almost too "exotic". Like buying a Lamborghini....great when they work until it's time to fix something like replace a clutch or brakes.:eek: I think builders have come a lot further on the old Boss 429's as far as technology and reliablility, IMHO. And no...I don't own a Lambo!;) |

I hope Damage gets his Cammer back together and has many happy miles. Reading his build thread and all the trouble he's had, he deserves a bright and cheery conclusion. :)
The Cammer is my ultimate engine. I wish I had one in my Kirkham. :( |

HA! I have known of one still on the pallet from Ford, wrapped in OEM plastic and tagged by Ford as delivered with alloy heads. I have been checking on it since 1976 along with the OEM Boss 9 "S" right next to it on a factory pallet as well. The family won't let them go, but it has been my life mission to eventually get them. Unfortunately, they know what they have and are keeping them for sentimental value.:(

I am merely stating that this forum tends to take a side depending on who the parties involved are, this forum shouldn't do that.
