Default '71 429-2v

Howdy,

I found a '71 429-2V that has never been rebuilt and it runs. Does anybody know anything about this engine? Is it the same as a 4V engine but w/ a 2V intake and carb? Or, is it like the Clevelands and the 2V's have smaller ports and valves? I can get this engine for $200.00. I guess I could pull the valve covers and look at the casting #.

Thanks for the info.......Paul

Everythings the same as a 4V for 71 except the intake and the cam, and I'm assuming you will use headers anyway. If its a truck engine it could have 4 bolt center mains, depends on the casting numbers. You also might check with the 385 forum at; www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/85220 Good luck!

Default interest

If you decide not to take the engine for $200.00

Leave me a note, I might be interested.
