Torqueing sequence intake manifold?

Does anyone have a diagram or sequence for torqueing the intake manifold for a FRP crate 460? Specs?

Tony A. found the cause of my constant backfire; a creeping/leaking intake manifol gasket. I had replaced the header to sidepipe gasket, thinking that was the culprit...I have ordered the correct intake gasket from NAPA.

Thanks

I don't have a specific diagram, sorry.
The way I have always done it is to start in the middle, then to the other side, criss-crossing with each bolt and working my way towards the outsides. That way, it irons out the gasket from the center out. Do it in a couple stages too.
That's how I do it.

And then keep at it! Alloy intake manifolds need to be retorqued on a regular basis due to the expansion / contraction factor's. Alloy heads/blocks compound the problem. While the Ford torque figures are around 30/35 ft lb for the 3/8" bolts and 20/23 ft lb for the 5/16 bolts, most alloy manifold / head manufacturers recommend a lower torque value due to the softer metal and expansion factor. Check with the techline of your manifold/head supplier to be sure.

Thanks Tony!
I'm trying really hard to hold back on calling Carl's Ford Parts for that twin 4 BBL kit...

And thanks, Larry, JacMac. I guess that's what happened, I never re-torqued and the problem started happening when she hit 4900 miles on the odo.

BTW Tony, did you use RTV or "right stuff" on both sides of the Renz gasket upon install?

Ray
I used the Right Stuff on end rails and only around the water passaages !!, both sides
