Default 460 General Questions

I have the option of owning a 460 out of an old LTD which ran fine until the rear end gave out and the owner parked it for the past 15 years. They are about to haul it off for scrap and I asked if I could have the engine (and transmission). It's mine, all I have to do is go get it, no charge.

My question is whether or not this is worth my while to try to rebuild? I would guess that since they were in LTD's and there were about a billion LTD's, then this should be a fairly common engine out in the market. Can anybody give me a going price on a newly rebuilt 460 and how easy/hard is it to shoe horn this thing into a cobra replica?

In the least, I am not going to say no to a free engine, I could still realize a few bucks just finding the right buyer. However, I figured if I needed an engine eventually for a replica anyway, and this thing will fit, then I make out like a bandit.
