The Warner T-10 is not strong enough to hold up to the demands that you require. These were discontinued as a RPO item in '64 by Ford and mid '63 by GM. They were superceded by the Toploader (Ford) and the Muncie (GM). They cannot handle, over a long period, the torque demand of high output engines, espcially in drag racing applications. The syncronizers are the first thing to go--balky into second and popping out of third is the usual route.

Your best bet would be a Toploader, as the only way to make the T-10 stronger is to swap it out with Super T-10 gearing. By that time, you would be better off with a TL.
