Carroll DeWeese's post reminded me of the "visibility" issue with these cars since they're so low to the ground. Drive them like you're riding a motorcycle, and don't trust anyone around you. Just expect them not to see you.
People tend to look over the top of them or they have their mirrors adjusted too high to see them. I was hit once in a parking lot (at very low speed, and with very minor damage) by a Ford Focus driver who couldn't see me over her rear deck.
