GT 350SR Natural progression or scam
I see the old grouch is lending his name to constructing GT-350's out of 1966 fastbacks. The price tag is between 93k-95k. Now I had a 1967 GTA, I loved it. But this car with tax and fees here in California will set you back $105,000. What do you think about this? Is a former 6 cylinder stang worth squandering $10k on much less 105k?
Which brings me to another matter. If memory serves me the last auction I saw for a 1968 GT-500 with a 428 was around $76k. These were splendid cars but generally overweight, underpowered and somewhat of a disaster as far as the interior styling is concerned. 0-60 in 6 sec. is ok but these cars top out at 117 mph in 4th. They were slower than a 302 just based on a 5600 redline verses a 6500 rpm.
Are these cars worth this kind of money or is the baby boom generation losing it's collective mind? I know it's worth what you are willing to pay but is it really?
