Turk,
As clean as it was, I would have thought roughly $120,000 tops.......$260,000 seemed like a little overboard, the fact that the announcer describing the car stated that Shelby himself approved the all aluminum engine and had it rewritten in to the SAAC registry to be correct is what has me worried. Remember, the folks at Barrett Jackson only know what the owner/seller tells them, if it's baloney (like this statement was) then the buyer is the one who will ultimately pay the price.

PS: It is my understanding (from talking to someone late last night who was there and knows both parties (my CA based 427SC buyer) that the two high bidders of the car have a childhood like rivalry, and more cash between the two fo them where they can push the envelope, as they did on several "surprise price" automobiles this past weekend to the tune of over $2,000,000 spent be each of them bidding against one another..................This story is not over quite yet, and will hit the trade papers eventually......................I just wish that I had them for clients.............
