Some of the ERA cars (mine included) have aluminum panels fixed to the inside surface of the hood to make it look like an aluminum piece when the hood is up. Also, the ERA scoops are rivetted on to simulate the mounting of the original scoops. Perhaps Mr. Shelby does the same.

I also was surprised that there were no original cars up for auction this year. Perhaps the economy scared off potential sellers.
