If it were me, I'd retain the EFI. Talk to Wade Chamberlain at Capitalareacobraclub.com, or the FFR oriented cobraforum.com.

That being said, if you go carbureted:

The Edelbrock Performer RPM is hard to beat

Holley has a Street 600 CFM, vac secondary, #1850 that for a stock cam 5.0 is also hard to beat.

Still, a 10 second "Street" Cobra that gets 22 MPG cruise using the stock electronics is haard to beat.
