Default Not-Virus-but-Real-Annoyance Alert

If you are a user of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or any other message service that keeps a "buddy list" on your computer...

..be alert for an IM from a "friend" that asks you to go look at "this cool game" about either Osama or Saddam.

It is the result of a rampant malware (Adware-delivery scheme) that is making IM'ers nuts, rapidly spreading the mess.

Simply stated... if you go play the game.. it loads software on your PC that 'hijacks' your buddy list and keeps sending messages from you about the game to all your friends.

AOL is pissed and may take legal action against the developers.

There is no real security threat to your computer, just a compromise of your buddy list....
...but the background activity, like many other ad and spam-relaying agents, can s-l-o-w your system down.
