The S/C variant was merely a way to dispose of unsold Comp cars. There was no marketing effort to increase sales... there was a finite number of cars that had to be liquidated.
Comps (and as such, S/Cs) had no heater or defroster, nor did they have the provisions for one to be added.

Street cars had the slotted demister vents across the dash top... S/Cs did not even have these slots cut in the body. The floor was carpeted, but the doors and rear bulkhead were simply covered in glued-down vinyl.
