Good grief! Yes, the track at Pocono leaves a lot to be desired. And I've never been to other tracks, so I can't compare. The pavement is in poor shape in spots. But, it is a thrill to run wide open down the tracks' long straightaway. And for beginners, it is a lot of fun. Yes, from what I can see it is relatively spinout friendly. Last time I was there, some kid rolled his brand new (i.e. less than 1000 miles) M3, but that's because he was playing 2 Fast, 2 Stupid. The one instructor (forgot his name, big guy, lots of muscles), nearly went postal on the kids' friends who were doing the same thing. But if you drive with your head instead of your nuts, you'll be fine.
I'd LOVE to go to other tracks too, but for me, like Roscoe, I've got no tow vehicle. So Pocono is closest. Watkins Glen and VIR are 5+ hours away. For now, I'll take what I can get, as open track is a blast, and if all I can manage is Pocono, so be it. As soon as I can get to the Glen, I will.
Sounds like we've got lots of interest in Pocono. Why don't we all pick one date and meet up there. Maybe we can convince some of the senior Crankoids to come, and maybe get some first timers too?

No, it ain't "real", but it's real fast....
Some people choose to rattle their windows with stereos and speakers... I choose to rattle windows with my right foot.
