Gobig,

In Calif. there were no emission requirements at all in Calif and no smog equipment. That started in 1966. But if you have your car registered under SB-100 with a SPCNS number then you don't have to worry as that exempts it from any emission testing. The only thing that could even be remotely called emission equipment on 1965 and prior cars was a PCV valve. Some 1966 cars went to smog pumps and others used various means to meet the requirements as at that time they were different for different motors and not all this every motor meets the same crap.
