Use a thin bead of silicone around the cover, lightly snug the bolts then tighten in a cross pattern to 5 ft-lbs, then again at 20-25.
Moroso Climbing Gear lube is good, like thin snot, very clingy. There is no exact amount, you'll need around 2 quarts, buy the gallon its not much more. Fill to the bottom of the fill hole.
If you have an LSD, be sure to add 4 oz. of limited slip additive, Amalie and GM both make it.
Use teflon tape on the fill plug.
